Hiking in Maine

As we entered Maine, we were hit by a solid rain that lasted for all of two day. One thing about rain is, you seem to get your miles quicker, mostly do to not wanting to stop, and really wanting to get to a shelter. Luckily it was not too cold, but cold enough to wear your rain gear. This also means no bugs, which had almost began to be a problem.
If you were to ask most people about the bugs, they would have said the misquitos were at the worst, I would have told them that it was nothing compaired to the Sierras or Oregon in their prime season. One thing I learned by this point of the hike, that the AT community, blows everything out of perportion. Nothing is never as bad as the rumors. But then again, most information is passed by section hikers whom have a whole different outlook than most thru-hikers.
